Happy Friday! After this dreary week we've had over here I'm saying a few prayers that we see the sunshine soon, even though the forecast is saying something much different (miracles can happen). Anyway, we can't control the weather but these gray skies got me feeling like blah.
Here are a few of my favorites from the week...
1. Cinco De Mayo: we decided to venture out with the nuggets for dinner. Everything around us always gets so packed on cinco de mayo but we were able to get a table and enjoy some dinner, dancing, music, and fun handouts. After my little mishap with thinking cinco de mayo was last week (can I still use baby brain as an excuse, doubtful) I had been craving some guac. We got our day started with some fresh spring fruits. Confession, I wasn't sure if an avocado was really a fruit or not, so I googled it. Come to find out it sure is a fruit, and even more specific, it's a single-seeded berry. Who knew?
2. The Nuggets: can we just talk about these two loves for a minute...I had my dying while I was feeding him the other night. After every bite he kept raising his arms up like this. And A got the hang of the tricycle this week. He was so happy. #proudmomma
3. Parents Night Out: my husband and I got to enjoy a night out celebrating one of our friends birthday's. We went to this awesome local place {Rails} that has a speakeasy in the basement. You had to pull a certain book, on a certain shelf, that ended up opening the door to get in. Top secret stuff.
4. Relaxation: that's a word that was far and few between lately but if you missed my post about ways I'm incorporating relaxation into my life, you can read more about it {here}
5. Mother's Day: it's hard to believe this is my third year celebrating Mother's Day {first, second}. It seemed like the last two years I was much more crafty and had more time to prepare. This year, wellll, it's the thought that counts, right? Maybe it's because my sister and I already celebrated an early Mother's Day with our Mom so it feels a little different this year. I'm still excited to see what my boys have in store for me. I'm just really hoping for a day without dishes or cooking, and lots of hugs and kisses.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and to all the mom's out there (fur mom's too) wishing you a very happy Mother's Day. We sure have the hardest but best job in the world <3
