Friday Favorties-Fall Is In The Air

Happy Friday! I hope your week was a good one. Ours was pretty low key, which I always love! Knock on wood (really hard) we are all pretty much back to normal over here.

Now we're just getting ready for A's third birthday this weekend. I know I sound like a broken record, but time people. I seriously have issues with how fast it goes.

I decided to do something a little different with my favorites this week. With the exception of my first two favorites I'm digging into the archives over here.

What I've realized is that I used to be a lot more creative before both of the nuggets and I actually had time to cook pretty things AND take pictures of them. Now a days, ha!

1. A's birthday: my not so little handsome man is going to be three on Sunday. We are having a little party for him at a local play place which is very out of character for me. I love all things party planning so it feels weird for me to take a step back, but I am looking forward to not dealing with the clean up.

We always said we would only go all out for their first and 5th birthdays but we won a "free" party for him through a raffle, and let me just tell you, this thing is anything but free. I didn't expect to walk in and not pay a cent but they seriously get you for every. little. thing. Regardless, as long as he has fun that's the important part! I will share more from his party next week.

2. Fall decor: our house now officially feels like fall {read more here} and I have to say this room is by far my favorite room in the house. If you remember from over the summer we sold our house really quick and had to move into one of our investment properties for the time being. I can't believe it's already been 4 months!

There just isn't anything on the market that we are in love with without going in and still doing major renovations. At this point we are tossing around the idea of building. If we go that route it looks like we might be here at least a year or so, which is fine because it's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Side note, does anyone have experience with going through the process of building a modular home? I'd love to hear your story!

3. Oldies but goodies: here's where I'm digging into the archives and sharing my favorite fall food posts. I can't believe I forgot about {this} apple dip! I'm glad I decided to do a search in my own blog, has anyone else done that from time to time? Anyway, we are planning on going apple picking this weekend so I will definitely be making this again.

2. Fall food for toddlers: I remember I had fun with {this} one and thinking of foods that A would enjoy. Although, I still can't believe I actually called something a Cheeskin (insert monkey emoji covering eyes, I always associate that with bashful). But a cheeskin? What in the world was I thinking? Did I really think I could pin that and have it take off as some internet food phenomenon or that it was really the best name ever.

5. Harvest salad: I saved the best one for last, I love {this} salad! If you're planning on doing or attending any type of fall parties this also makes for a great presentation and conversation piece. There's just something about that pear in the middle. And that warm honey dressing just tops it off.

Maybe one day I'll have time to do some recipe posts again but for now thanks for traveling down memory lane with me. I hope you have a great weekend!
