A Blush Love That Never Was

Valentine's Day Outfit
I have a little confession to make, I never used to be a pink wearing girl. I'm talking not even a shade or variation of it. Like ever. I think the only pink I really wore was my sorority letters when we had shirts printed up that we needed to wear. My first blush tone top I purchased was a few years ago when I decided it was time to get more festive for Valentine's Day because A questioned why I didn't have a special Valentine's Day shirt to wear. It looks like that whole you need to wear your special Valentine's Day shirt to school thing might have backfired on me, but in a good way.

I was always a blue lover and all things focusing around the dark and gray scale tones. Over the years I've seen a change in my style and embracing more color has become something I've grown to love. I like to think the blogging word and social media in general has helped me push my comfort zone and encourages me to try new things, and for that I am grateful.

This outfit was actually inspired by something I previously wore with my sparkly sweater and winter white jeans. I like to think of this as the next version of it because a lot of the things I'm wearing are basically the same, except for my top and coat. I got my coat from Zara when we were in Amsterdam and it has quickly become one of my favorites. I already had this top sitting in my closet and my stay white jeans are thankfully still white. One of the things I am trying to get better at is shopping within my own closet instead of always feeling like I need to get something new. I tend to get bored easily of the things I have. Switching things around or adding in something new pieces to outfits I already love has helped me with that. So what about you...has there ever been a color or trend you stayed away from and then ended thinking it's not so bad?
