Happy Friday and happy March, friends! I hope you had a great week. Ours has been a fun one with celebrating Dr. Seuss week at the boys school. We always enjoy acting silly this week and I love that the boys wake up every morning excited to go to school. It makes getting out of the house so much smoother. Now if only they could wear silly socks and pajamas all the time. I think they actually ran into class two of the days and I had ask for them to come back and give me a hug.
Here's a look at some of our favorites from the week...and you might have guess it, this is going to be Dr. Seuss overload, and what better day to do it than on his birthday...
1. Dr. Seuss week: I should probably just do a dedicated post for this, but you see, time is not always on my side. You all know me and my love for some breakfast parties. This was the perfect opportunity to throw a little something together to kick off Dr. Seuss week for the boys. I got these little finger pointers that reminded me of the cat in the hat's hand, or as everyone else saw it as a Mickey hand—tomato, tom-a-to.
We enjoyed some green eggs and ham, or more like Eric and I ate the eggs because when it came down to it, neither of the boys would bring them self to try it. Go figure. We tried to give them a lesson like that cat in the cat who kept saying no, and they should always try things once, but it didn't work.
2. Silly school days: this was too much to include all under one favorite section so I'm breaking it down into two. Every day this week the boys had a theme that they could dress up for (you can see last year's here). If you've been follow along on my insta stories then you probably saw all of these pictures, but since they only last for 24 hours on there, they needed to be documented here. You'll have to go check out my stories for the one today. I'll give you a hint, it involves a lot of green. They were seriously cracking me up with all of their silly faces here.
3. Hike: last weekend it was so rainy and dreary but the boys were itching to get out of the house so we needed to do something. It stopped raining for a few hours so we decided to chance it and went for another hike. Thankfully it held out for us and we only felt a few drizzles here and there. This is one of my favorite hiking spots and if you've been around here for a while then you might have seen some previous pics of our adventures and some winter fun here. And if I had to guess, this won't be the last of pictures from here.
We always love taking Coaty with us too and I swear he just smiles the whole time. This place is amazing on a clear day because you can see the skyline of NYC. Since it was so dreary and we only got a few breaks in the clouds here and there, it was more of a faint sight off in the distance. They also have an equestrian center on the mountain and the boys loved seeing all of the horses.
4. Paw Patrol party: we had fun celebrating with our friends son who had a birthday that was like a Paw Patrol dream. The boys were going nuts for all of the games, the dog treats, and they are still asking for a cupcake with the m&ms on it.
5. March: I mentioned in my post yesterday about enjoying the little things and how I'm not one to wish time away. I would be lying though if I didn't say February tends to be my least favorite month. I am so happy to see March and feel the hope of spring on the horizon. Now don't get me wrong, it can still be a tricky month for us, but it just feels better all around.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Here's where you can find me linking for all of the link up fun.
