Happy Friday, friends! We made it through the first full week of November with a lot of celebrating going on over here. If you caught my favorites last week then you saw that it was my sister's birthday and this week was Eric's birthday. I was wondering if baby boy wanted to share a birthday with him but it looks like he's still cozy in there.
Here's a look at some of my favorites from the week...
Eric's Birthday:
my mom watched the boys for us over the weekend and Eric and I got to enjoy a nice dinner out. She also kept them overnight so it was amazing to sleep in the next morning. I kind of forgot what that feels like. His actual birthday was a rainy dreary one and by the time we got home it was dark as anything. Ugh daylight savings. The worst, at least when we fall back, is not my friend. I need daylight. I need sunshine. I can't live in the dark.
Anyway, we snuck home a little earlier than him to put out some decorations, hide under the kitchen table, and yell surprise when he walked through the door. We ordered food from a Columbian restaurant which was so good and got to enjoy his favorite, cannoli cake! If you caught my insta stories then you might have seen the boys provided some dinner entertainment with unbuttoned shirts and singing, I'm an old man do-do-do. I don't know where they get this stuff from. They have been quite the comedians lately and it's been really cute to see them crack each other up.
Continuing with the celebrating, my sister had the cutest fall themed party over the weekend. I loved her hay bales and the fire pit. She had blankets for everyone with hot chocolate and smores. I made these fruit smores and she had a ton of food. It was so fun!
Thankful Pumpkin:
if you've been following along for awhile now (always a big thank you to those that do) then you know we start our thankful pumpkin every November 1st. Every night after we have dinner we talk about something we're thankful for and write it on the pumpkin. Then at Thanksgiving we have the pumpkin out on the table and it's a nice way to reflect on things that mean so much to us.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Here's where you can find me linking for all of the link up fun. And don't forget, on Thursday we will have our monthly girl chat link up where we'll be sharing tips for juggling the holiday season. I'd love for you to join us and share your thoughts!
November Goals:
speaking of things in November, I don't always do monthly goals but this month felt like a good time to get some things in order. I also think that me sharing it in a post makes me feel more accountable for actually achieving them.Kids Holiday Gift Idea:
one of my goals was to try and get as much, if not finish all of my shopping, before baby boy gets here. I shared this fun 2-in-1 RC Monster Truck from Huffy. They also have two other models out that make for a great ideas for the holidays.I hope everyone has a great weekend! Here's where you can find me linking for all of the link up fun.
