Happy Friday, friends! I hope it's been a good week for you. I'm not even sure where to start here, it's been a week filled with soooo much. So many fun times, first experiences, so many emotions, so much hope, and even a bit of fear. For starters, if you follow me on instagram (@beautifully_candid) you probably saw that baby C had his first round of lip surgery to correct his cleft lip. We're so thankful that overall the surgery went well. He still has a long road ahead of him, and it was so hard for me to see him in so much pain. He's already showing some great improvements and I'll be sharing more about him within the next few weeks. I cannot thank you all enough for the love, prayers, and support, you all poured out for our little family. We truly appreciate it and felt so blessed to have so many of you cheering for him from around the world. We were so grateful we got to go home yesterday, and I would be lying if I said I was not beyond excited to see my own bed.
Let's get into some of the rest of my favorites...
First Baseball Game:
a good friend of ours had tickets to a Phillies game and invited us to come along. Eric was on a camping trip with A for the weekend with the boys group from our church. I was home with the baby and little nugget. We have some amazing friends that are so supportive of our little guys and invited them to come along with me. Little nugget had a great time and it was so special to be there with the baby for his first game. The seats were awesome, I mean really awesome. It was in a private suite catered with food and the whole works. These kids these days, they just don't know how good they've got it ;)
Strawberry Picking Oops:
i shared earlier this week how our mishap of a strawberry picking adventure turned into some funny moments that have prompted us to be on top of the seasonal fruit schedule for next year, and for the picking still to come this year.Last Baseball Game:
my mama heart was really tested this week when I was being pulled in all directions for my kids but couldn't physically be there for each of them. Since Eric and I were staying at the hospital for the baby's surgery, we weren't able to split our time like we would have liked to. I started a post while I was at the hospital letting my feelings pour out that I plan on sharing soon. I think it's ok to show moments of vulnerability and know that sometimes no matter how hard we try, or want to, we can't always do it all. While I got to celebrate my baby boy's first experience of being at a baseball game I also missed seeing my oldest son play in his last game and receive his medal. I'm so thankful my mom and sister were able to help take care of our big boys and be there for A's last baseball game. It was so important for him to have others cheering him on and making sure he knew how supported and loved he is.Carnival:
i think what I loved so much about this week was all of the family time we had, even with being away at the hospital with the baby. In a way, time felt like it slowed down for us a bit and we were able to focus on the important things in life. My sister invited us to a carnival that was around here and the boys had so much fun riding the rides, winning a new pet goldfish (remember how shared our beta fish from last years carnival passed away?), and playing games. I also ran into two of my local instagram friends so it was nice to be able to meet in person. It really is a small world we live in.

I can't believe father's day is this weekend. Time is just moving right along. Eric and I usually don't go all out for mother's day or father's day but it's nice to get a little something. Since I coordinate my outfits a lot with the boys, I thought it would be cute to get all of them coordinating shirts. I thought about a dad is great shirt, or something along those lines, but then I feel like those are so seasonably worn that I'd rather get something more everyday. I came across this striped tank for Eric and found coordinating ones for both of the boys.
I've also been liking the stripe short paper bag trend for the summer. I picked up a pair for myself that are more of a linen blend material and super comfy. They will be great for wearing down the shore or for pool days, or really anytime in general. I'm also linking some additional similar pairs here, here, and here, because they're all so cute and you should check them out. I found this gingham tie front swimsuit on a clearance rack and couldn't pass picking it up. A lot of you messaged me when you saw me wearing it in my stories while we were in Spain. I realized I mentioned to most of you that I loved it but got some weird tan lines. I should have clarified, it was because I did not have a tan yet for summer and the weird tan lines I got were on my arms from the boys grabbing onto me and my sunscreen rubbed off. It wasn't necessarily from the swimsuit. Although, I could see how you could get some tan lines if you don't already have a base tan.
I'm also thinking about some outfit ideas for 4th of July and so happy that we'll have another extra, extra long weekend at the beach. I LOVE this bow button front dress but not sure I could pull it off this summer because #mombod. This striped bag is so cute and can be fun and festive or a nice summer piece to have. This stars and stripes basic tee is also really cute and casual and perfect for a bbq or low-key gathering.
I hope you have a great weekend!
